Schneider Electric USA, Inc. seeks a Principal Electrical Design Engineer in Hopkins, SC.Job Description: Design switchgear and switchboards based on customer plans and specifications. Work with systems involving ground fault design, PLC transfer automation and power monitoring. Work with UPS and Generator switchgear applications, layout and configuration of switchgear and switchboards. Read, understand, interpret customer specifications. Design control schemes utilizing Modicon (Premium/Quantum) PLCs and programmable relays, to accomplish complex transfer operations. Create electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using SEEXP, AUTOCAD. Design ground fault protective schemes, including those involving multiple sources. Appropriately size breakers, switches, fuses, cables, bussing, current transformer, potential transformer, control power transformer, UPS, and battery system. Generate bill of material and modification of standard assemblies as required to suit the application using Order editor, SAP and AMAPS. Develop relay-based transfer scheme for the multiple sources. Eligible for remote work up to 2 days per week.
