Job DescriptionThe Massachusetts Military Division is looking to add two Firefighter/EMT’s as members of the 104th Fighter Wing (Barnes) Fire Department. The Firefighter/EMT will respond with crews to emergencies on the Barnes Air National Guard Base, Army Aviation Support Facility, Barnes Municipal Airport, and to local communities as needed; This is a full performance level of work in fire suppression, fire prevention, communications, technical rescue, training, and emergency medical care. Work is performed through established policies, procedures, and operational guidelines, and requires initiative and resourcefulness.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform firefighting activities, including controlling and extinguishing fires, and operating hose lines, make forced entries, and ventilate structures; perform hazardous materials mitigation; perform or assist in rescue operations in conditions involving structural fires, aircraft, vehicle and machinery extrication, above and below grade environments, and confined spaces.
